Being raised by a Meerkat family until the age of fourteen provides Starkin with a unique approach to advertising. He learned the art of avoiding predators at an early age and later expanded his talents to include theatrical performance, media production and direction of both music and theater.
Successful but not satisfied, Starkin opened two media production companies in New York City. During this period he worked with some of the most sought after talent in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Many of his associates are now Tony or Grammy Award winners. Other associates are homeless, belong to religious cults or are in prison.
Starkin has written, produced and/or creative directed hundreds of presentations for many of the Fortune 500.
His work has earned many awards, among them the Silver Screen Award, the IABC Award of Excellence, Intercom Gold and Silver Hugos, numerous Cindy Awards, an ADDY Award, Art Director's Award and the coveted Grand Award at the International Film and Television Festival.
His first novel; "My Life as a Meerkat" is currently being fought over by agents.
